if you go back and look at the twitter exchanges or the threads about it here..note the difference between tariq's response and the response of AM/YC. They are more politically astute than tariq is and saw what was happening.
tariq, who at the time was talking about outsiders (Black immigrants) talking down to AAs, was very courteous to a white woman who made a career out of talking down to AAs . I found that odd at the time, and it didn't make sense.

He should have taken that money and built a compound in Africa where black people can go to isolate themselves from the white man and be out of reach of white supremacist. He has no excuse since he believes white supremacy has to be fought globally,he could fight it from anywhere in the world. The edcuational standards of his school are probably still dictated by the European.

The ideal pro-black private school would emphasize (1) entrepreneurship, so that its graduates are prepared to work for themselves and for the benefit of the global black community, rather than for whites; and (2) pan-africanism and african studies, so that graduates are prepared to move back to Africa, preferrably to a country like Ghana, so that they can form the vanguard for the industrialization of the continent. Why would I send my child to Dr. Umar's school, or any pro-black school for that matter, if they're only going to end up working for IBM, Lockheed Martin, or Dell?

I think all educated black people, especially those with training in STEM, should move back to Africa, again preferrably to Ghana or Nigeria, and help build up (west) Africa. The west is on its deathbed.
