When I win I bring we with me
:comeon:
  • And when he remodels they will complain about curriculum
  • and when his curriculum is straight they will complain about ......lunch food????
  • etc etc

And non of those complainers will have given any money to be making complaints(nor will they ever admit to ever being wrong). :coffee:

[edit]
Ok after looking at the location I'm thoroughly impressed :ehh:

  1. It's actually two schools! (both a middle and high school across the street from each other)
  2. Huge adjacent ball field they can convert into a farmland.
  3. There is a boys and girls club there also(with a small pond) ...but i'm not sure if that's part of the package.
  4. Wilmington, Delaware - The racial makeup of the city was 58.0% African American, 32.6% White, 0.4% Native American, 1.0% Asian, <0.1% Pacific Islander, 5.4% from other races, and 2.6% from two or more races. 12.4% of the population were Hispanicor Latino of any race.

Only thing that he originally planned that's not explicitly accounted here for was housing for the children so that they don't go home and be re-indoctrinated with B.S. from "the streets". That said he could convert one of the buildings into a dorm ...or even build one on the adjacent lot/field. Basically it's a big enough property that he can do almost anything he puts his mind to in that location :ehh:

Yall know he will always ask for donations right? It costs money to run a school lol. What's the plan actually for the future?
That is where i’m at with it. I’m happy he has a building, and I really hope it is successful. However, I need a clearer sustainability plan before I donate anything. Is this going to be a private school that charge tuition? Or is it going to be a charter school that uses public funding? Is he going to try to operate it off of donations only? To my knowledge he has never addressed this. If he has someone please link me to it.
With that said this is a good step. I’m rooting for this to be successful. We really need something like this.

I was among his harshest critics. If this is real, I will give him credit for starting to do what he said he was going to do.

I don't think this proves anything. He could've bought a building anytime within the last 5 or 6 years. How much did this building cost? The whole 750? How much of the people's money is left from the purchase to go towards renovations?

How much will it cost to renovate and then bring it up to code? Just asking for more money isn't gonna get it for anyone who understands business. It doesn't take much to have contractors come in, go over the facility and then give a general quote as to how much renovations are gonna cost.

And I actually wan to see him pull it off, but what he's doing isn't sustainable as a business model.

He needs to put together a board that will provide oversight of funds, help with strategy and implementation. He shouldn't be doing everything on his own without accountability.

Above the fray.

I didn't watch more than 30 seconds of the video, but if he purchased the property, then he's done more than what I expected. I thought he was straight flapping his gums before and I pointed out that he should have gotten his feet wet with a summer enrichment program first.
Every point you've made is a valid one, and he and his supporters will figure out how to pass building code inspection and every other logistic.

I called BS on him making any steps toward opening a school, and if the video checks out...I was wrong.
