Yeah, there’s a concept called “1,000 true fans”. All you need is 1000 people to support everything you do and you can have a 6 figure business. Tariq has a loyal cult following. But I don’t think history will be kind to a lot of his work, I doubt he cares tho. It was this or falling off after he aged out of the Mack Lessons era.
With that said, Dr. Umar is stubborn as hell and yeah, he has a big ego like most social media personalities who rely on their personal brand to keep their followers engaged and supporting his endeavors.
He shoulda been stepped aside and allowed someone to help him with the school. I assume he wants all the credit and glory if it ever opens up. I haven’t met a man without flaws, Umar definitely has his and we witness them since he’s in the public eye.
But I don’t view him in the same light as Tariq Nasheed based on everything I know about them plus my knowledge of marketing, persuasion, game, building a cult like following, etc. While viewing their content, I study what they are doing, I just don’t consume it.
Umar hasn’t flipped from one niche to the next to the next like Tariq has over the years. His message has been pretty consistent since I’ve discovered him.
Can’t say the same for Tariq although I tip my hat to him for his ability to adapt over the years based on what the market wants. I just don’t like how he uses his talent for negativity. Mack Lessons Tariq was my favorite era
