It's sad that it is what it is where I live but this time of year firecrackers and gunshots sound the same. I'm about to head to the 4th of July celebration where hometown Naughty By Nature will be appearing in the hood. Wish me luck

Me and my son were standing in the living room having a conversation when all of a sudden I hear POP! POP! POP!

I pushed dude behind the couch so quick and told him to duck!

+1. It can be hard to differentiate sometimes, but the sound of a gunshot is actually the speed of sound being broken and is more of a crack than a bang. A gunshot will often leave a bit more a reverberating echo too. But yeah OP, if it's a bunch of shyt popping off on the fourth it will be a bytch to guess which is which at the time.

Wtf you talking bout. Yes they do. The aerial fireworks do. I heard guns bust in the air before and it sounds the same. To me some sound like mag rounds.

Gunpowder is used in both fireworks and firearms so the "explosion" is very similar.I'm hearing "tap, tap, taps" and cracks all over the place. Even a multi toured soldier coming fresh from the battlefield would have issues right now. I go to the range often and I my bro lives in the hood, trust me, its not easy to distinguish. If I had a clear audio mic, I'd record the shyt from outside and quiz you and I guarantee you'd fail.

These cac teenagers almost got their shyt lit up at Meijer's today. Me and my wife are walking through the parking lot, and they roll up and throw some black cats out the window. I saw three different people duck and their hands automatically went to their waistbands before they realized it was firecrackers.
