UNC-Chapel Hill has a problem retaining Black male students

shyt, I know I’m biased. But the UNC system is one of the best in the country.

the gap between chapel hill and the other schools in the system is just too great. compare that to the UC system where 6 campuses are ranked in the top 50 of all schools in the country and every campus is ranked in the top 100 of public schools in the country.

although to be honest i've never given other state's systems much thought because they are really only known for one campus: Austin, Chapel Hill, College Park, Madison, etc who just big bro the other campuses. I guess the closest to a group of equals would be SUNY with buffalo and stony brook leading the way. one of the weirdest ones though is alabama, they big bro UAB who are the better school and if an alabama school is ever admitted to the AAU it would be them.

Eh, I don't put too much stock in a top anything unless it's IVY. My thing is, the UNC System is well rounded and relatively affordable. UNC is the flagship, but If I want to get a job in finance right out of college, I'm going to UNC Charlotte. If I want to do something with Engineering, I'm going to NC State. California's population is 3 times NCs as well.

IMO, the best HBCU in the country.

Another thing. Greensboro (at least when I was in college) was probably the best college town in NC. I know people like to big up Greenville, but Greensboro was something special.
