When did I say all? I would at least think 20% would cop though.
Breh, it sold more than the past Uncharted/TLOU did in one week on half the install base. It's not going to stop selling as of the day this news was posted. UC4 is going to sell well over 10 million.

Hell, Halo 3 for the 360 only sold 3.3 million within it's first 12 days on an even larger install base that was solely a "Halo" box. I say "only" to highlight the absurdity of thinking one week sales are any indication of a lack of demand.

The Xbox 360 wasn't a Halo box. If anything it was a dudebro box over that and while that encompassed Halo it was bigger than that. There are plenty of CoD guys that don't like or play Halo for example. Halo pretty much all the mega-series of today Assassin's Creed, CoD, Madden, and to a lesser extent Bioshock were out somewhere around Halo 3's release many of those are dudebro games too. The whole gaming climate was different then.

Uncharted is kinda in it's own lane. Outside of Tomb Raider which isn't available on the PS4 right now it doesn't have a whole host of other games that compete with it or passionately divide people against it. Also it's May not Q4. I just thought a huge chunk of people would be clamoring for this out of the gate given the exclusive drought. perhaps this generation of consoles isn't as bad as myself and some of the others here have felt it was if this comes out and many people have a I'll get it when I get it attitude.

If it sells close to 4 million by the end of the month, that'd be faster than what TLOU sold in several months. Hell, Destiny sold 6 something million in one month across multiple platforms and that was a BIG title.

I know everybody is jumping on @winb83 but he's got a point kind of...

He's not saying it to be bash u4 but rather pondering seriously what are all those other people playing?

But most don't realize the majority of console gamers only buy sports games and shooters. They are casuals.

A lot of them literally don't play anything but gta and cod and sports.

Uncharted 4 is the highest rated 8th generation only console game both this year and this generation* on the best selling console by far. It's coming out at a time of the year where it has virtually no competition for sales. There are only 3 8th generation only games that have passed 90 and they are Bloodborne, The Witcher III, and Uncharted 4 so it's not like we're swimming in highly rated games. I guess it's unreasonable for me to look at that and think it would have sold more out of the gate than it actually did. My bad.

* = Best PlayStation 4 Video Games of All Time

It's a non point. Week One sales don't mean much.
Here for example:
Mario Kart Wii had a successful launch and sold 300,000 copies on the launch day in Japan alone, compared to Mario Kart DS which sold 160,000 copies on its first day and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! which sold 180,000 on its first day.[27] In the week ending May 4, 2008, Mario Kart Wii had sold over a million copies in Japan alone, less than a month since its release in the region.[28] In the UK, Mario Kart Wii was the best-selling video game in the week ending April 12, 2008, having "the eighth biggest opening sales week in UK software history," according to Chart-Track/ELSPA.[29][30] The game dwarfed all other five Mario Wii games released up until then for the Wii combined when comparing first week sales.[29] In the United States, Mario Kart Wii was the second-best-selling video game in April 2008, selling 1.12 million copies, according to the NPD Group; putting it behind the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV and ahead of the PlayStation 3 version, both released in the same week.[31] It ranked the fourth-best-selling game of December 2008 in the United States, selling in excess of 979,000 copies.[32] According to the NPD Group, GfK Chart-Track, and Enterbrain, the game has sold 2.409 million copies in the United States, 687,000 in the United Kingdom, and 1.601 million in Japan, respectively, for a total of 4.697 million copies sold by August 1, 2008.[33]
4 months to sell 4.6 million on the Wii.

As of now it's been reported to have sold over 36 million.

I'm not questioning the game I'm questioning the gamers. This game is basically the crème de la crème of the 8th console generation to this point. If you look at all the high rated games most of them are last generation ports. There's only a handful of elite new titles this generation and this one is the elite of the elite.

You go out and spend $400 on a box that doesn't have all that many new elite games and the best new game hits for it and the vast majority are on some I'll get it one day shyt.

Your logic is hilarious.

Come back when the NPD comes out for May and then reread your post.

There's literally only two games that sell over 5 million within a few days and that's mostly GTA games or COD. Other than that, every huge AAA game has strong week one sales that sell for months.

You seriously don't see the fallacy in your logic. Like you really sitting there thinking you making sense. :mjlol: The game is at 6.7 % attach rate at LAUNCH and you're worrying about whether that's good or not when virtually every other game ever does the same amount within that relative time frame. It's like your logic is if 50% of an install base doesn't buy a AAA game day one than it may be commercial failure.

Come on B, you're not thinking through this at all. Put on your thinking cap.

You can't compare Nintendo to other studios.

1)Nintendo games don't go down in price. Even used they expensive as shyt.

2) it's Nintendo. Theirs literally nothing else to buy on Nintendo systems then Nintendo games.

3) Nintendo games have always had phenomenal legs. Like a total outlier to the industry norm.

Also you're comparing to a total anamoly in Mario kart wii. Wii itself is an anamoly.

And really, games like uncharted don't have long legs. They just don't. The majority of blockbuster aaa's make 90% of their sales in the first 2 months.

*TLOU was an exception and did have crazy legs so who knows maybe u4 does the same.

40 million PS4s sold doesn't mean 40 million people anticipating UC4.

:what: every blizzard game crushes 5 million in sales in the first week all the time :heh:

-World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Sells 3.3 Million Copies in 24 Hours

-December 13, 2010 -- Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that World of Warcraft®: Cataclysm™, the third expansion for the critically acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), sold through more than 3.3 million copies as of its first 24 hours of release, making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time.* This milestone eclipses the previous record of more than 2.8 million copies sold in 24 hours, set in November 2008 by Blizzard's second World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King®.

-Blizzard announced today Diablo III has sold 6.3 million units in its first week, with it selling 3.5 million units in its first 24 hours. -2012 (Diablo 3 is now over 30 million sales)

-DIABLO 3: REAPER OF SOULS SELLS 2.7 MILLION COPIES IN ONE WEEK

their biggest flop:

-STARCRAFT 2: LEGACY OF THE VOID SELLS 1 MILLION COPIES IN 24 HOURS

PC games sell in 1 day what the top selling console game sold in 1 week :myman:

but on the coli, apparently console gaming is more popular :snoop:

Come on breh don't pull this shyt here.

NPD Group's sales data show that Uncharted 2 was the top-selling game in the United States for October 2009, at about 537,000 units sold,[74] while Media Create's sales data has Uncharted 2 selling 47,000 units for its first day in Japan.[75] Phil Rosenberg of SCE says the game has crossed the one million sold mark on November 12, 2009.[76] According to gaming analyst Jesse Divnich,Uncharted 2 is the third first-party title on the PlayStation 3 to sell over 1 million units in North America.[74][77] As of February 2010, the game has sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide, becoming the fastest selling first-party title on any PlayStation platform.[78]Uncharted 2 is now part of Sony's selection of Greatest Hits.[citation needed] On 28 September 2010, Naughty Dog announced the title had now sold 3.8 million worldwide.[79] By December 2011, over 5 million copies of the game had been sold.[80] As of March 2015, Uncharted 2 has sold over 6 million copies.[81]

My comments are about the initial reported sales not the May NPD or even the final total sales of the game or how long the legs of it's sales are.

I already laid out my case for why I thought that initial number would be much higher. I was wrong as reality has proven but for you to suggest that my logic is broken is hilarious.

You and others were the ones that got offended by what I said as if I was calling the game a flop or some shyt or as if I suggested it was going to take a drastic dive in sales after the first week.

Like I said,the majority.

Besides the point of the purchasing habits have become very front loaded across all products, what happened 5 years ago is not the same as now.

And thirdly, I clicked on your Wikipedia article and the citation for the 6 million sold claim mentions nowhere that uncharted 2 sold 6 million .

Wikipedia is a shytty place to quote from if you don't check the facts behind the posts
