RIP to your uncle. My father had it too.

I cut meat, but more specifically red meat. I eat it maybe once or twice a year.

Don’t smoke weed anymore and don’t smoke tobacco.

Getting off the Nigerian Guinness too. I do struggle drink so my mental is aligned with drinking and recently I been more depressed. So I got to unlink those two

Had my colonoscopy and endoscopy about 1.5 years ago. Wasn’t comfortable, but all clear. Back in when it gets to 5 years.

Condolences breh. That shyt runs in my family, too. Get them PSAs starting at 40.
I would even argue before if there's family history. They say start testing at 45 but every year shyt keeps popping up in people younger and younger. Especially among black folks.

What makes it worse is insurance companies are notorious for refusing to cover the fees for testing before the age written in the "guidelines"

shyt even Chadwick Boseman got diagnosed with Stage 3 colon at 39

Condolences breh.

How old was he?

When was he diagnosed?

Thx man. He was 58. Was diagonosed in 2021.

Because of covid he couldn't get his checkup. Doctor's were so backed up so by the time he got his physical in 2021 it was already at stage 4.

He did chemo last year and was still able to work and the treatment worked. When I went home for Christmas last year he was cancer free. He gained the weight back. He was his normal self.

Man by April it came back aggressive. My dad told me 2 weeks ago to come home and see him.

I made it home and he cried when I saw him. I cried too but we immediately started talking about sports and everyday life. He was having a good day.

I kinda knew he didn't have much longer as the cancer had spread to his liver but I was hoping for a miracle.

He's at peace now and I just take great comfort that he was one of many positive male influences in my life. He really was a great man and everyone loved him.

Condolences friend.
Your uncle is a second degree relative putting you at a higher risk. Likely he had symptoms for a while. Black men have more aggressive prostate cancer than other races on average. Please get evaluated - Prostate exam, PSA, consider genetic testing. Also talk to your other male relatives.

My uncle passed this morning after a long battle with prostate cancer.

It's been tough watching him slowly die the past few months.

It's harder seeing my mom so heartbroken. She lost her only sibling. My grandma lost her baby boy.

I take alot of comfort knowing my uncle was a loving husband, father, brother and friend too many people.

My black.brothers on this forum. Go to the doctor every year for your physical. Early detection will increase the chance of survival.

Peace and blessings

sorry about your loss and your family's loss, I will definitely make sure I keep up with my doctor for regular check ups

My condolences and prayers are extended to you and your family, brotherman...

As a more mature black male, yes, get those checkups. Haven't eaten beef in 12+ years and currently on a hiatus from alcohol since January 2022. These changes have manifested mentally and physically and, God willing, will continue to do so.
