True, But We Ain't All The Same. Alot of my family are quite resentful of cubans taking over certain previously black or white neighborhoods and I understand and even share some of their sentiments. But they ain't all bigoted, they don't all practice or support racism, and i tend to do what I want.

I live in florida. Most Hispanic even the "black" ones dont consider themselves black.

What does that have to do with what I said? Our cultures very different. Mixed latinos tend to Identify as white. Especially when the come to the states and even more so in the south.

Colorism was an issue in Spain before there was anything called a "latino". After the centuries of domination by the Moors, once they drove them out ,the Spaniards created a social caste system based on the amount of white blood a person had. Pure "Spaniard" on top....and the ladder is based on how much pure or mixed blood a person had.
Spain and Portugal used a more complex version of this system when they colonized countries in the Western Hemisphere.

When did Uncle Luke become a reporter? I remember reading an article of his years ago thinking it was just a one-off editorial, but he's actually writing articles and being taken seriously. Wow.

If you look over Cuban immigration history, pay attention to the exodus right after Castro took over. The wealthy Cubans fled because they knew the party was over. These were mainly the Spaniard children of the former Spaniard landowners /plantation owners. aka white people.

In every caribbean or south american country, the rich elite families are descended from the former plantation owners and tend to have mostly spaniard blood if not full spaniard(or french or portuguese depending on the country)

cuba is the exception in that the "elite" are here after fleeing castro, most other places...rich elite class is still there

Not every Cuban is majorly descended from Spanish Slave masters.

There were a few periods of European Immigration into the country. Latin American countries brought millions of white people to whiten the population around the same time the Irish, Italians and Eastern Europeans were coming to America.

Cuba held Black people in Slavery until 1886.

Puerto Rico held black people in Slavery until 1872.

Neither ever had a civil rights movement or black nationalists movement THAT STUCK.

Most Cuban classify themselves as WHITE EVEN IF THEY ARE MIXED.

Dont be silly about the status of these people.

They want to have sex with them because of their precived exotic ness yet conveniently like to igonore their proximity to whiteness.

Also the Latino label erases race in America which is a very very bad thing.
Nothing good will come out it especially for Afro Latinos.

Statistics are all out of wack and proper representation is lacking because of this.
