i heard some people talking about the good ol days and having an identity that everyone gravitated to and jocked. they forget about the music being really good when they get nostalgic like that. i now see new york has the most 'identity-less' region of the country with no particular sound and a crabs in a barrel mentality. Lotta the rappers from new york didn't cultivate the next generation or give em the helping hand so instead you have a bunch of 50 cent, fat joe, ja rule, diddy, lox, etc.
