Dude. I chose the title because on this board, the Rockets are universally considered a joke of a team. Howard and Harden get nonstop ridicule here. I've always supported them and knew they could be great. Underrated, is actually being nice if one actually knew the shytty reputation this team has on this board. Their kings though because at the end of the day, both a great example of #blackexcellence

Now that we have Lord Threeza in building, in addition to shedding the dead weight in Lin and Parsons, we're built to win NOW.

I know breh, it´s just that this is a season thread and we have the name of another franchise and the nickname of a rival player who turned us down this summer in it. I would´ve gone with something like Harden Than You Think. But it´s all good breh. We´ll mush teams in the playoffs this season and The Beard gon´ make people mad with his deserved MVP election. Haters aren´t ready.

We'll see what happens, when CaveMan and RoLo switch off. One of things that killed us in the past was rebounds.

Howard's going have his work cut out, aside from being undersized, they're going to take him away from the basket...

Portland has no bench and while Lillard may be a clutch player I don't like his game. LMA just :mjcry: can't do nothing with him

i've been to the one in webster. it's not bad but the new one being right off of i-45 has got to be a more poppin' scene.

I been to that one too. It was dead for a Friday night. There is a bunch of options ride there. Fox and Hound, Time Out, Bayou, Brew wings and Ojos

they hate our boys on this Board. Might as well name the title "The Coli most hated squad"

The Arsenal
just checking in, so that i can remember this thread. i like that our weakest defensive players are bracketed by all-defensive caliber players:

beverly-harden-ariza-t.jones-howard

and i actually think t.r. dunn could whoop harden's ass easily.

I hope I don't jinx us tonight since I haven't posted in this thread yet. My bad in advance for this long ass post bruhs. I have so much to say and I know I'm gonna forget a lot but...

I can't say I'm surprised by our record considering the teams we've played so far. What I am surprised by is how the Rockets have come out and handled business in every game so far. I think we can all agree that tonight will be a great test to see how far we've come in certain spots.

Going position by position:

I've been skeptical in the past about Bev being a starting caliber pg on a contender but injury concerns aside (I think it's too early to label him injury prone) I'm starting to become a believer. He continues to improve his shot as he matures and if he keeps this pace up I think we can at least upgrade his "lazy analyst label" from defensive stopper to a legit 3 & D weapon. Going forward I think he can easily add a little floater to his repertoire and be an important offensive piece to the team in addition to an all defensive team guy. Maybe part of my feelings are due to hoping he's a Rocket for a long time. Behind him I had serious questions about our backup pg spot before the season. It's way too early to call either way but Canaan looks to get more comfortable and confident each game. In the last game he made a couple quick decisions that I'm not sure he would have made in the past. We know he's a shooter but the part of his game that I'm still waiting to see is his ability to draw fouls and get to the line. He got to the line at a high rate in preseason and summer league and I think that will come as he gains more experience. I've gone from having legit questions at this position to having tempered optimism. Both guys are easy to root for and I hope they can hold it down the whole season.

Maybe the biggest reason for me being okay with Pat at pg is how Harden has started out. I wondered how we'd look going from Harden, Lin, Parsons (although I think his playmaking ability is way overrated by many) to just Harden. Don't get me wrong I still think we need to acquire or develop a secondary facilitator, but so far this season it actually looks like those departures has just made the team run smoother. Part of that is having more chemistry with teammates after a year but I'd say the more important factor is not having Harden concede possessions to Lin and Parsons. There's no more "well Lin is in now so we'll let him run the offense a bit" and there's no more "alright just let Chandler get his looks". The only player that really gets isos now is Harden. The ball movement is better as a result and now that James is bringing the ball up the court he can choose who to run the offense through. There's no Lin/Parsons being force fed the ball. James brings it up the court, looks for Dwight, if it's not there swing it around and look for him again. Eventually his shooting percentage will revert back to normal and we might really see some amazing shyt from him. The only thing I can really complain about is his high turnover rate. Sometimes shyt happens and sometimes those fancy passes don't work out as planned. The turnovers that piss me off are the ones when he brings the ball up the court leisurely and loses it. Dude brings the ball up the court like me playing 2k dribbling all close to the big men like they don't exist.:mjlol: Terry has more juice in those knees than I thought. I can't believe I'm cheering for Jason Terry. :wow:

This nikka A3riza:mjcry:.Dude makes me pause when I get ready to say a young player is always gonna be the player he is today. Idk if I've ever seen a dude improve his shot so much. I'm pretty sure dude literally had zero 3 pters when he played with Dwight in Orlando. Then you look at the other team's stats and look at the dude he was guarding and he's shutting nikkas down.:whoo: Then there's this nikka Pap. I remember professional writers laughing at the idea that Morey could dump Thomas Robinson to create room for Dwight. "Who's going to help Morey? He can't GIVE away Robinson":pachaha:Not only did Morey dump him he got Pap for him. Wait until Pap gets a year's worth of NBA workouts and a year of shooting NBA 3s. Dude is our best backup sf and pf. Can't believe I'm saying that the sf rotation is stronger this year.

TJones has impressed for the most part. Still lapses here and there but those are to be expected. Dude can't disappear for a whole half though. I feel like he's in a race against time. You never know when Morey will strike a deal and it would suck to see him get traded before the light bulb really comes on. Jones has so much potential and is pretty unique for a pf. I hope he works out for himself and the Rockets. Dmo is the most frustrating player on the team. I've defended dude before but my patience is almost out. It's nice that he plays great team defense, is always in the right spot, and moves the ball better than any big on the team but cotdamn he has to impact the game more than just getting into foul trouble. The one thing I want to compliment him on I really can't because he's fukking up there too. Low-key he's rebounding well but all I can think about are all of the other rebounds he keeps losing because he's playing like a p*ssy. You can't keep getting boards wrestled away from you from fukking guards bruh:skip:.

Dwight is Dwight. Dude definitely needs to keep the knee pads if he's gonna play like a poor man's Dream. That baseline spin is coming along nicely. I know he gets a lot of shyt for his post game but after what I said about A3riza I won't be shocked if we look at Dwight's post game in a couple years like :ohlawd:. We gotta get that backup C spot straight though. We'll see what Black does over extended time. I'm not expecting much from Dorsey. Interesting that Capela got some run. He's obviously raw and needs quite a bit of time but he did what his scouting report said he could do: rebound, run the floor, alter shots at the rim. At the end of the day that's all we really need behind Dwight. Come April/May I doubt Capela will be that guy but I've seen crazier things happen.
