The story behind the album is gonna be a lot more interesting than the actual music
Ya'll gonna be in for a rude awakening when you realise the album is just a bunch of stitched together verses over Cilvaringz's lame offbrand RZA beats
Nah, for OUATIS he had them each record specifically for each track and instructed them on the song concept/what type of verse they were doing. Like someone said, that's how he got a 'RZArecta' performance from RZA for example. And Cilva's production has gotten really dope. His new project impressed the hell out of me.
And the Wu members were mad after the fact. They recorded verses for some unknown Wu project in good faith but when they found out what it was for they were pissed.
They explicitly knew what it was. I just think it got bigger than they thought, both the sale and media coverage, and then the circus surrounding Shkreli was something no one signed up for. The Clan members probably thought this would be along the lines of Chamber Music/Legendary Weapons which were Clan projects they contributed to but were firmly in control of RZA/Bob Perry/Andrew Kelly/Revelations/etc... For OUATIS to blow up into what it did w/ constant press & getting questions about it every interview & them only knowing their own contributions to the album, they might feel some type of way about it & some of them voiced it.
No it wasn't. It's Wu-Tang Killabees The Swarm Pt 4. He went to RZA in the final hour, after it was already completed for his permission to brand it a Wu-Tang album instead of Cilvaringz Presents. He did what Dreddy, Math & Power/Remedy have already done. The media calling it a secret "Wu-Tang album" is what caused the problems. All Wu fans knew what it was. He wouldn't stop talking about it for a few years. "I'm working on something...all of the Killabees will be on it...I'm collecting verses from everyone. I'll reveal when the time is right..."
Some of the snippets heard were pretty good, and as others said - better than a lot of the ish the Clan as soloist rap over.
"Swarm 4" is a little off b/c those Swarm sets became basically compilations/showcases for affiliates. This album was more in line w/ what the Swarm albums should have been w/ full songs w/ the core Clan & the best affiliates like Meth & Deck w/ KP, Sin & Street on a cut.
who rapped on it? all them? Also were they original verses?
Every Clan member is on it. And, outside of Dirt who obviously was from the vaults, yes.
