the side effects of covid wasn't hidden, we knew actual covid was worse.

antivaxxers ranted about the vaccine and myocarditis but ignored the fact that covid increased your chances of getting myocarditis many more times than the vaccine did.

You’re doing that thing yall used to do by lumping anyone who had questions or concerns as an antivaxxer and framing it like they were stupid. It’s very pretentious and holier than thou and I see it happening already in this thread about the cancer vaccine.

the majority of "concerns" were not normal, they were fueled by unproven, unvetted conspiracy theories. those who should've gotten the vaccine and didn't were worse off and had worse symptoms than those who did. you can look at the evidence, but ofc folks will call it fake

Very holier than thou to just dismiss any concerns as not normal.

The effects of the Covid vaccine should've been apparent by now if there were any serious issues.

Any 'side-effects' found still pale in comparison to the effects and risks of covid itself.

mRNA advancements are going to usher in a revolution in treatments for the conditions that plague us today.

Everyone is quick to say fukk cancer, so be supportive of these studies that go through the proper channels and processes to actually make a difference in people's lives.

This sudden distrust for medicine makes no sense considering the regulations that govern the arduous task of bringing something to market. It may have made sense following the time of the Tuskegee experiments, but these days? Give it a break.

EDIT - I support the autonomy of everyone. Make your own decisions. Just be informed instead of being scared. Be knowledgeable instead of ignorant. Research it, don't be lazy and ask questions only to shoot them down because you're not coming from a genuine place of curiosity.

You can let these Frankenstein scientists manipulate your DNA all you want.

It won't stop you from dying. It's going to happen.
In that case why take any treatment at all. Chemotherapy puts chemicals in your blood that--if you're black can literally break down your melanin and have you looking like a cake soap addict.

All treatments and medications can have a side effect. If youre desperate to not die, it's worth the risk. Cancer isn't called "the emperor of all maladies" for no reason.

you didnt read what i said, its cool. i said most concerns were not normal....... mfs been taking vaccines for their entire life, but a LOT of ppl were swayed by social media into thinking they just rushed to whip up some bullshyt. a person who just paid attention in life would know that COVID was NOT the first coronavirus to spread en masse. They've been working on coronavirus vaccines for decades.

I have no issue with vaccines at all. My issue is with people getting called stupid or dumb for not choosing to take a vaccine. Personally, I’m not calling anyone stupid or dumb for their choice to take a vaccine, so I don’t want anyone questioning my intelligence when making my decision. You don’t have to fully trust what the government is telling you, and you have the right to and should make your own decisions.

With Covid, it was too politicized. Someone saying they didn’t trust the vaccine or had concerns, were automatically lumped into some Trump supporting maga category. In reality, plenty of people had questions or concerns, and or chose not to take the vaccine and did not support Trump at all. My main issue with this vaccine shyt is, when folks start personally attacking folks intelligence

This reminds me of Covid. When people have simple, and normal concerns. But people in support of the vaccine were so holier than thou and liked to look down on people who didn’t blindly take the vaccine. Whats more weird, wanting to know more and asking questions about potential side effects, or just injecting some shyt in your body without looking into it and asking questions?
The issue is @Chrishaune is concern trolling and you’re carrying water for him.

Saying “whats the side effects? exactly” sends the implication that the side effects will always be so bad that the cure isn’t worth it.

Hell your own statement of “let these crackas inject if you want lol” also sends a message that anything health related that “cacs” produce inherently cant be trusted.

In a vacuum, these are just your opinions but at large these are messages that contribute to Americans (especially black Americans) having a unhealthy distrust of modern medicine and more often than not are under treated and under diagnosed (specially in conjunction with exuberant costs for medical treatment).

So yes in the middle of a pandemic that was dropping bodies left and right, people might be a little eager to shout down what often time was useless conjecture and conspiracy theories, born out of America’s stupid obsession with rugged individualism, religion, and lack of education about science.

I don't think there will be much controversy regarding choosing not to take a cancer vaccine since cancer isn't contagious. people didn't want to catch covid and wanted to increase herd immunity so thats why there was so much derision against those who would rather risk getting and spreading covid because they didn't want to take the covid vaccine.

I don't care if someone chooses not to take a vaccine that prevents cancerous tumors, or any vaccine for any non-contagious disease., as long as you can't spread it, then it's your prerogative how you want to deal with it.

too many people wanted to not take the covid vaccine and simultaneously disregard all other covid prevention methods. that was a big problem for those who had no interest in suffering or dying soon.
