Because they're the dumb kids who couldn't comprehend getting their ass whooped growing up and somehow came to the conclusion that physical discipline means that you're a "bad" parent
As someone that got in trouble from tome to time being whooped had nothing to do with it

This discourse of whoopings are bad you need to explain to your child stuff instead blah blah is something I honestly disagree with. And I’ve been putting a lot of thought into it as well
This morning i came to the full conclusion
I was remembering what I got my first whooping for.
I was 6 years old. 1st grade. Me and my friend skipped school. Soon as I got home(my teachers dropped a dime) all the adults in the house told me I was getting a whooping when my mom got home. And sure enough I did.
I didn’t need her to explain why. I didn’t need her to hug me after. I knew exactly why I got my ass whooped. Even more i never skipped school
Again. Even had perfect attendance one year.
Throughout the rest of my childhood if I got whooped for something I knew why and I knew I deserved punishment for it. I never needed my mommy to explain to me why something I did was wrong. The only whooping where I didn’t know what I did was wrong(and still don’t) is when my mom whooped me for letting it be known in the check out line that we were paying in food stamps
This brings me to why I said what I said in the title
If whoopings aren’t enough it’s because one of two things:
- the child had extreme behavioral issues and will do whatever they want regardless until life humbles them
- they’re not smart. Literally too dumb to know what they’re doing is wrong and why it’s wrong. Dumb ppl usually don’t do well
A whopping is literally all it takes to keep a regular, not dumb child from becoming a knucklehead
I know it’s an uncomfortable truth butmost people won’t admit they aren’t as smart and they think they are
Ass whooping is crucial for disciplining the child. Training the child to being obedient and following rules. When there's no home training, the child will end up being disobedient and disrespectful to not only his elders but also his peers.
Story time:
When I was very young, my temper was erratic. A very bad child I was. Talking about breaking plates, throwing suitcases at my siblings, throwing F's bombs like it was nothing. As a result, I was punished for my actions.
Ass whooping was a daily routine in my scene. My parents whoop with the switch, the belt, stick. Anything you name it. However, I'm grateful because it straightened me out.
Negative reinforcement is essential. Home training starts at the home.
OP is right, but since nobody can ever objectively argue against it without adding additional factors such as abuse and etc...the topic never moves forward

Personal experience, even if after I got my ass whooped I would double down on the bad shyt I would do until the adult in question gave up and left me alone
