Sam L has been in more movies with more variety of characters

They are similar characters, but I think Sam does comedy better as well.

And people could say that about Denzel... he’s been a cop or something along those lines more times that I can remember off top.

Denzel has been lowkey typecasted for a while now

With Sam you can get all types of wild ass characters for your movie


Look at Sam in Avengers, then Pulp Fiction, then Eve's Bayou, literally completely different people he played

The more I think about it I think Sam jack would've done that role better in training day . Denzel still did the damn thing though.


That said I don't think Jackson could replace denzel in philadelphia, John q, or even in the equalizer. Denzel can do stoic roles better than jackson. Not to say jackson can't pull off a subdued role because he's definitely shown that in a movie like eve's bayou.

Samuel jackson might also be a better character actor than denzel too especially if the role calls for a passionate or comedic character.


It's a tough call tbh

Denzel will get the oscars but jackson is the highest grossing actor of all time for a reason.


I can't call it. We'd lose a ton of irreplaceable entertainment value if either of them took a different paths in life.

I really liked Sam L in that one spike lee movie where the racist ass Italians were fukking with black people in NY. He played the hell out of that radio announcer role - goddamn still one of the best character performances I’ve ever seen on film.

Otherwise, Denzel wins by a huge margin in regards to acting.

Yeah Denzel is a bit boring - he plays the same roles but does them very well. He was only really entertaining in Training Day and that one spike lee basketball movie
