Nas hasn’t been good or interesting since 2004

Donald Glover’s music is basic as fukk and more overhyped than Kendrick Lamar

Mumble rap is a cac/c00n term.

Freddie Gibbs is the GOAT of the 2010’s class.

Rap self segregates too much.

OutKast is better by than 2pac by a large margin

ASAP Rocky is just an uninspired Anderson Paak

XXX is just dumb Earl Sweatshirt

I literally have heard of not even one of these nikkas:skip:...

On Topic:
  1. J.Cole isn't boring.
  2. J.Cole is better than Kendrick Lamar in certain areas, mainly storytelling.
  3. Kendrick Lamar regressed from Good Kid, Maad City.
  4. Nothing Was the Same is Drake's best album.
  5. Trap music isn't anywhere as bad as people say it is. It prioritizes flows and cadences in order to evoke a certain mood in the listener.

Freddie Gibbs sounds great and the music is good but the bars don't stick like that for me.
currently...Jim Jones sounding better lyrically than most of his age group.
Nas was sounding like he was doing an impression of himself on several songs on that new album. Your Old Droog bars.
time will be kind to the latest A$AP Rocky album.

Dipset are jinxed when it comes to getting it together as a group but the two good songs they made since 2010 in Salute and Once Upon A Time are better than anything The LOX and G-Unit have made (that i can think of) in the same timeframe.

J Cole is not mainstream and has zero impact on rap

He has a loyal fanbase that can push him to plat(might not happen this time)

Daytona >>>>> Nasir

This is a very safe opinion. Daytona>>>arguably everything that has come out this year. Gibbs and Jay Rock are up there too.

None of “big” albums this year have lived up to the hype. Nas, Jay, Kanye, Cole...none of them. When Drake drops tomorrow, it’ll be more of the same.

Q got a better catalog than Kendrick. I'll take Habits & Contradictions and Blankface over any Kendrick album.

Isaiah Rashad's Cilvia Demo better than anything Jay Rock put out.

Ab Soul the best lyricist on the whole TDE roster.

J.Cole not top 5 in any time period.

ASAP Rocky's Testing was an enjoyable mess.

The current landscape of hip hop is a new Golden Age on par with the early-mid 90's. Especially the last 5 years.
