Gil actually says his biggest regret was how many young NBA players careers he ruined because of how immature he was which tainted them and lists all them names you mentioned. He says especially once he fukked up his knee up he lost all professionalism and lead them down the wrong path.There will never be another roster like this ever. I'm guessing that's what happened. I'm guessing that's exactly how the story made it to the media. The more level headed players in the locker room when it went down probably went straight to the GM telling what happened and saying something had to be done or complained to their agents who then leaked it.
Then Gil's reaction to this was to walk into the locker room saying that they had snitches on the team.... Dude was unserious AF.
Not only that but then to go out in the pregame celebration doing the gun celebration. That's one of those things that keeps the story in the news cycle all over again. For a lot of stories if you just lay low for a while all the outrage will blow over and the suspension won't be that bad. Yet Gil just had to keep antagonizing the situation. It was just really dumb on his end.
