This shyt has nothing to do with data security. Y'all don't think the government could have created some VPN/Encryption tunneling to encrypt US user data. They could have worked with Oracle to implement that... before its relayed back to China

What did he do right?
Lost in all of this chatter is the fact that Americans collectively didn't pay any attention to this until today got closer and closer and all of the options to keep the law from going into effect got exhausted. We don't pay any attention and then get surprised and angry when something like this happens, rather than fukking paying attention to what Congress is doing and pressing our representatives when things like this are coming up for votes.
I've been telling friends and family repeatedly for the past year and a half that TikTok could get bushed soon because of the bills in Congress. The bill that got signed into law last year was floating around in Congress in different forms for a good while before that, and there were a lot of signs years ago that it was going to end up on Biden's desk eventually.
Americans aren't serious in part because we're not civically engaged and that makes it easy for whoever's in power to pull shyt like this
