I may be wrong, but maybe he felt obligated to take the job because if the timing of when he interviewed/was offered to take the job & because of his history with the program.

I don't know the details, but with what PSU has to deal with in the coming years, I don't see a problem with him leaving.

Besides, the Browns might not be a shyt job anymore with the new ownership & management behind the organization.

And even if he doesn't intend to take the job, it's always a good look to take the interviews to keep the doors open.

To everybody saying he doesn't benefit by staying, keep in mind, PSU is still one of the greatest football programs in the country -- great recruiting base, TV audience, 100k in the stadium every week. And he has the No. 1 QB and TE recruits coming in next year.

And he's got so much support from the school, there's no way he'd be canned before the sanctions run out in three years. He's here for good, if HE wants to be.
