If you don’t attempt stabilize Mexico after violating international law (like Russia in Ukraine!) you’re going to have 20 million Mexicans fleeing to the United States.
America’s armed forces aren’t big enough to occupy Mexico. You’d need 1 million troops on the ground given Mexico’s geography, its population size, the circulation of weapons there…
Oh and you just know China/Russia/Iran/North Korea will arm Mexican freedom fighters

Mexican drugs kill more peole than the 3000 people on 911. The US deems Mexico a threat in that sense but has never tried them like that.

Breh, just no. The US has occupied Mexico twice, 1846-1848 and in 1914. A Mexican occupation would be difficult but given the brutality of the cartels, America might actually have the full cooperation of the locals for once. Secondly, knocking back a bunch of narco bandits would not collapse the country. 20 million refugees fleeing north? Hell, Polk wanted all of Mexico back in 1846, we may have it for the asking in 2023. shyt would doom Mexico instead.This response is hilarious!

We are not talking about an actual pillar of civic society, just drug dealers outfitted with American kit. Mexico has always had a gentleman's agreement with the cartels but Felipe Calderón war on drugs ruined that and the country. Whose to say that a new arrangement couldn't be worked out with a new set of narcos? These guys aren't vital to Mexican civil society at all. As to foreign interference, of course these guys would play their little games.
But second rate American military hand me downs is currently pushing the shyt in of the worlds so called second strongest Army in the Ukraine and Chinese equipment hasn't proven effective on any battlefield worldwide. So Chinese and Russian equipment flooding into the hands of guys used to shaking down avocado farmers and poor people ain't gonna make the military industrial complex shake in its boots. It'd just be a great sales pitch to buy American.
