Apparently this is the first time the leading three candidates represent each of the 3 largest groups?

Atiku is Fulani. He’s not Hausa. Unlike Buhari, Atiku actually speaks Fulfude.

Tinubu (Yoruba - Muslim) - Shettima (Kanuri - Muslim)
Atiku (Fulani - Muslim) - Okowa (Igbo - Christian)
Obi (Igbo - Christian) - Baba Ahmed (Arab/Hausa - Muslim)

The first individual, in the line, is the Pres. candidate. The second individual is their VP running mate.

Ex. Tinubu is running for Pres.
with Shettima, as VP

I was just focusing on their ethnicities and assumed folks were familiar with APC, PDP and Labour candidates

Ah, see I didn't know how mixed the tickets were. I had read that it's the first time the leading candidates represent all the ethnic groups but I didn't know across the parties they were making their own alliances independently.

APC: Tinubu (Yoruba - Muslim) - Shettima (Kanuri - Muslim)
PDP: Atiku (Fulani - Muslim) - Okowa (Igbo - Christian)
Labour: Obi (Igbo - Christian) - Baba Ahmed (Arab/Hausa - Muslim)

There is also another a candidate running in vote-rich Kano as a spoiler

NNPP: Kwankwaso (Fulani) - Idahosa (Edo)

To win Nigeria's Presidential election outright, your party must get over 50 per cent of the vote and over 25% of the vote in at least 24 of the 36 states. I don't see any candidate winning the election outright so there'll be a second round, I believe.

I think Kwankwaso will sell his votes to Tinubu, screwing the PDP in the running and winning at that stage. I don't see Labour winning outside of the Igbo majority states and Benue...

Are you Nigerian? If so, what "tribe?"
