If you're not paying attention sometimes a swift pass to the head will wake you up...Plus it teaches you to keep your head on a swivel and makes you more aware of no look passes once game action starts...
There is no serious damage a basketball getting thrown at your head will cause.. Worst case scenario is a black eye, broken nose and bruised ego..Classic pussification of America liberal reaction to a gladiators preparation..

Have you seen the tape of this Rutgers bball coach throwing balls at college players? His temper is EXPLOSIVE. (Reminds me of my mom when all 5 of us kids acted up simultaneously.)
Black kids and white kids would just freeze while the coach yelled. Then he'd throw the ball at their legs or torso AS HARD AS HE COULD and shove someone in the chest or body check 'em. SHOCK DAMN.
These practice sessions were VIDEOTAPED, so ESPN is just looping the footage. EAUX GAWD!!! D-X<
