Abel dropped another potential classic but thats nice for Gunna.. well deserved.

He makes GREAT music. It took Thug FOREVER to start selling as a solo artist but Gunna somehow has done it right out the gate. Lol thug released a million albums that became mixtapes after they underperformed

The Weeknd album will have long legs and probably outsell him in the long run but the 80s gimmick has gotten stale

Thug had to take his hits to pave the way for Gunna to do this.

an honorable gentleman.

Never have and never will listen to dude but him outselling The Weeknd is HUGE even though Weeknd didn’t release any physicals and didn’t seem to particularly care. I thought he was a shoo-in for that top spot.

I seen a tweet pointing out that his label started selling the album at the lowest possible price when they heard Gunna was putting up similar numbers, so they def cared.

hes scamming the system, he makes 2 minute songs, but theyre catchy, so people repeat them = more streams = more "sales" in 2022 rules

if billboard made a rule that a song only counts as full song by being 3 minutes minimum, the game would be in shambles :pachaha:
naw they’ll just repeat the same lines and make the beat longer

He's proven he is just as big as Lil Baby without needing all the hype, and extra exposure. Lil Baby's highest first week was "My Turn"---196k. That first week number actually puts him on a level above Durkio and YB also.
Lil baby is doing 250k plus next album

Honestly not a good look for Abel. I wasn’t really feeling the album but there were some great joints on it, some of his best tbh. The 80s synth wave just ain’t hitting like it was with After Hours and I wish he switched his style up completely like he was doing for previous albums.

These are really disappointing numbers for him but he’s one of those artists that keep the lights on at the label and has generated hundreds of millions of dollars for them over the past decade, so he gonna be good and his next joint will get the same backing. Hopefully this Dawn shyt really ain’t a trilogy and he abandons the idea after seeing these numbers
The weeknd and the label should’ve saw The response to take my breath as a sign that The public didn’t want new Weeknd music right now and they don’t want that sound

I fukk with Gunna but this is the Weeknd's best project. Way better than that boring Trilogy trash that folks are obsessed with.

So, the other night I'm on Apple music. I check out the new Cordae, but I also the new Gunna. After listening to some of Cordae's Album, I listened to some of Gunna's album. It has some songs I like. Then I saw people asking about this whole "P" meme thing going on on social media. I assumed it had to do with the two joints on Gunna's album. I guess that was it.
