As long as whoever wins it, deserves it, does it really matter who wins it?

If x-player deserves to win and does, nobody should have a problem with it.

The MVP means nothing in the grand scheme of things. When the postseason kicks in, the whole discourse around this narrative-based award will be largely forgotten. Too many folks wasting their time worrying about this shyt instead of just enjoying hoops. The whole bytching over the last 1-2 months about the media supposedly rigging the vote and ignoring the other candidates is some of the corniness shyt I've seen from grown ass men.
Nah you just:umad:time to come to terms with Embid snatching that joint from ya mans

I’m not even watching the NBA this season and I find this MVP discussion exhausting and find it ridiculous people use these arguments to shyt on some of the best players in the game based on their choice for MVP. NBA discussion is trash honestly, not even saying on the Coli, in the national media, basically on any platform the NBA is discussed the conversations are toxic and boring

I've made the exact same argument every single season when there's an MVP debate. I made this argument back when DRose won, when KD won, when Steph won, when Westbrook won etc. If Embiid wins and he deserves it, why should anyone have a problem with it? It literally doesn't matter who it is.

The problem for folks like you is, you convince yourselves of a narrative that doesn't exist because you don't like a player or you don't like the perception of their game. You've got to conjure something up in your rockheads to justify your bullshyt.

It happens every season too.

I just made this thread to poke fun at all the crying and bytching that's been going on around here lately. Everyone had already convinced themselves the media had plotted against every other player to give it to Jokic, when it couldn't be further from the truth.

We just gon let this flopper that’s never been to a conference finals win the mvp huh?

This dude got cooked in the PnR every time down the court by trae young in that series. In my day mvps weren’t defensive liabilities.

obvious jinx thread attempt :unimpressed:
How could you possibly mistake this as a jinx thread?

I'm pointing out how stupid y'all look for making up bullshyt about how the media were doing everything in their power to make sure Jokic won MVP. They literally hadn't even voted yet, and the actual voting panel hadn't even revealed who they thought the frontrunner was. Y'all just completely fabricated an entire narrative to fight a strawman, all because y'all don't like him or because your favorite player didn't win enough MVPs, or whatever ulterior motive you have in y'all back pocket.

This is why I know the majority of this subforum doesn't love hoops like that.

Because instead of talking about the actual play on the court and appreciating it for what it is, y'all would rather get in your feelings about a narrative-based award that ultimately doesn't mean anything at the end of the day. Y'all seek out shyt to be outraged about. If y'all aren't complaining about the MVP race, y'all are complaining about too many 3-pointers, or load management, or the league is too soft, or every team plays the same, or the players are boring, or the product isn't like the 90s.

It's like y'all don't wanna enjoy what's in front of you. You've got to find some reason to be mad about something.

joel aint gon win it his team is a 4th seed.. he seems like its more important to him ti win mvp then a chip. in interviews etc

where as giannis/nikola/steph .. may feel the same but they dont advicate in public i deserve this .

GS has better odds to win the chip than Philly and their a 7ty seed..
