we cant have this debate until "uplifting rappers" start spittin that hot and catchy ish again.

they havnt in the past 25 years.
That's true but it's also true that fans want and take in the fukkery raps. It's a personal choice what you find acceptable to listen to so we can't constantly blame artists alone.

They couldn't make music without an audience for it.

I think they have it’s just that people don’t find positivity entertaining (unless it’s like the last episode or scene in a movie) we live in a western society, chaos in the media is the livelihood now

no they don't have it breh. its a lost art.
theres cats that will drop a jam here-n-there but nothing consistent.

the street conscious "gangsta rappers" were the ones holding it down the past 25 years. I can prolly count on one hand how many rappers running with the conscious tag have had albums that really meant something during that time-span.

somebody mentioned jay electronica. I thought he was gonna be something, at least for the east coast(yea I know hes from new orleans), but he only had that one joint 8 years ago.

again, you cant make these statements until theres actual quality appealing product that goes ignored.

you cant just throw chit at the wall and expect people to automatically take to it, on the grounds that its positive.

i'll meet you halfway and say this much: we're so far removed from the days of jamming positive music, that if someone comes out with that sauce, theyre prolly gonna get ignored.

Swear this rap game the only genre where their artist die or get sentenced time on a weekly basis.
You can wrap about inorganic chemistry but that’s not going to bring the hoes out.

Can you imagine young killah chemists raising their beakers in the air? No, because it’s irresponsible to be splashing chemicals around. Follow the lab rules.

Jay electronica had no intention of dropping an album. The guy is a professional bum.
