Update On The Return Of The Elimination Chamber PPV

This soudns great, and already mroe hyped for this than Payback!


There was so much complaining on this other wrestlingforum (hint) I visit which made no sense to me. People saying there was not enough time for build up to good storylines, and that WWe is desperate for network subscribers.

My thing is, TV shows have been sucking, and ppv are almost always 7.5/10 or above in entertainment value and booking. So if I've been paying 10 dollars a month for two years, and only use the Network for pppvs, then I want as many live special events as possible!!!!!!!!!! I also heard there is a NXT event, don't followthe show, but their ppvs are awesome!

The upcoming WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view has become the biggest topic of discussion since its surprise announcement on Monday’s WWE Raw. The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that the decision to bring back the Chamber was made at the last minute, and as we’ve noted before on Wrestlezone, it wasn’t something the company has been planning on for months.

While the May 31st Corpus Christi show was originally set to be a house show, it’s likely they will bring out the full stage set-up as Raw is in San Antonio the following night. The costs of doing a show on the Network will be significantly lower than running a standard PPV. Because there’s no buyrates to consider, the talent probably gets paid slightly less, they don’t burn money on the actual PPV feed itself, and the company gets to sell subscriptions based on one of the highest selling events of the year.

The decision to run a surprise show on the last day of the month is actually pretty ingenious, as the WWE Network is free during the month of May to new subscribers, who will be charged for the month of June just a few hours after the show goes off the air.

With the King of the Ring tournament at the end of April, NXT Takeover coming up next week, WWE Payback and Elimination Chamber all happening within a very small window, and the highly anticipated Money in the Bank PPV coming up in June, it’s looking like a really great time to get on-board with the Network, and the company looks to be taking advantage of that.
