Meltzer explained it once. Basically both rosters usually work Sundays always. Then, Smaccdown Live is obviously always on Tuesday. It wouldn't make sense to send everybody home for one day and try to spend money to fly them bacc the next day (Tuesday morning). And they don't wanna pay the wrestlers to sit in a hotel on a Monday while they wait for the Tuesday show. At least this way they and the company are making some money
