Trump campaign withdraws four lawsuits challenging Georgia election results

ATLANTA — The Trump campaign has voluntarily withdrawn four of its lawsuits challenging the results of the presidential election in Georgia.

“Rather than presenting their evidence and witnesses to a court and to cross-examination under oath, the Trump campaign wisely decided the smartest course was to dismiss their frivolous cases,” Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said in a statement Thursday.

Raffensperger added that his office did not make any settlement agreements with the campaign and that “The President’s legal team falsely characterizes the dismissal of their lawsuits” as such.

The secretary said in a release that he sent a letter to Congress on Wednesday “containing point-by-point refutation of the false claims made by the President and his allies.”

The letter can be read here.

The Trump campaign was scheduled to present evidence in Cobb County Superior Court on Friday.

In addition to the Cobb County case, the Trump also withdrew complaints from Fulton County Superior Court, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
