"Drake is more famous for his pop songs" like IYRTITL wasn't insanely popular. Like people weren't chanting running through the six. Like Worst Behavior wasn't buzzing. Like Started From the Bottom wasn't a thing. Like people don't quote his guest rap verses. Like he ain't damn near ain't drop 3 rap CDs back to back

do you deny that his pop records are a lot more popular than his rap records? His first #1 single is a pop song

So? He's charted the same amount of rap songs in the top ten as his "pop"/r&b ones. Denying his popularity as a rapper is dumb, though. Not gonna discredit a nikka for being versatile when a lot of nikkas make pop rap to chart.

no one is denying that he's a popular rapper, but he also makes pop music and he's more famous for his pop music(even if you ignore the rihanna collaborations) and this give him a huge bump in popularity. Am I wrong? If so please explain why.

Just sounded like you were trying to discredit him like a rapper like meek or anyone else he's competing with wouldn't be upset at those numbers.

no, it isn't:why:

Nah

Probably not, it's not a pure rap album and drake is more famous for his pop songs than his rap song, pop has always performed better than rap so just looking at it as a rap album is unfair to all rap artists that just rap

maybe
Nope! He tried to destroy Drake period. Meek Mill shook to release a free mixtape for goodness sake. He released some stuff it was here and gone.

You know IYRITL went platinum and and hits on it? WATTBA sold out the gates as well. A lot of people like myself prefer Drake to rap.

Those 2 projects were both solid. When he rapping like that I think he's fine. When he tries to be Mr. Lyrical, that's when I think he comes off as a wanabee/poser :manny: I agree though the IYRITL and WATTBA drake is what we need. but I also like R&B drake. I just don't like Tuscan Leather drake, that's corny to me
