You could tell this movie was shytty based off the promo tour. It was 0% about the movie and 100% about Will Smith. Rapping the Fresh Prince theme is dope but what does ti have to do with After Earth? The goal all along was to make people say "haha, Will is still cool. Guess I'll go see his new movie." But it didn't work because of a shytty script that was rewritten about 3 times...

How was it ??
I won't lie once I started hearing the fear isn't real or some such nonsense as the tag line and remembering he had a interview on PBS saying a bunch of Scientology sounding answers I was turned off. Not to mention the backstory and character names sound like bad fan sci-fi and is way too convoluted. .

That makes zero sense. It's always like that. Whenever a star goes on late night, the first segment is usually about bullshyt, then the second part is about the move.

I know the actors sell themselves, but so far no one is selling this movie. It's reminding me of The Tourist, that Depp/Jolie movie that was horrible. The promo tour had nothing to do with the movie because the execs knew shyt was weak.

I used to work in the entertainment business, I'm not talking out my ass here breh.

Is this gonna be one of the all-time bombs, brehs??

It's being tracked to make between $35 million and 40 million. Which isn't a bomb. It's respectable....for a Vin Diesel movie. But this isn't a Vin Diesel starring movie...it's Will Smith.

So for Will Smith it's a bomb....and Vin Diesel just did $120 million :bryan:

Jaden Smith has top billing. Will is only in the movie a little.

Big Willy still lives:youngsabo:

He's going to hurt his brand with this movie especially after the lukewarm mib3 ( moneywise a success but creatively :scusthov:)

Nah..bomb yes.. but its gonna be remembered as one of the biggest dissapointments of the 2013. Along with lone ranger and world war Z.

World War Z was a production nightmare. It went something like $300 million dollars over budget. Crazy amount of reshoots and retooling of the story. Deviations from the popular book and a disavowing of the movie by the Author. It will be the most expensive movie in history when all is said and done. It can only be a disappointment.

If it wasn't for Brad Pitt starring the film would have been scrapped and never released. No doubt about it.

I'm a fan of the book so I'll probably go see the movie. I think it will make it's money back in worldwide receipts.

Now Lone Ranger???? Flop.
