Urban told us who he is before a single snap of football, before spring training, before the draft, and before FA. I don't believe he's a racist, I think he doesn't care about character. All he cares about is winning and success, and he will do anything to achieve it. Including hiring and defending coaches who beat their wives. Including recruiting and defending players who turn out to be murderers, racists, and abusers of women. He's done it at every stop he's been at.
And this also reminds me that in many ways football is one of the greatest bastions of white mediocrity. Got a friend who just got divorced and is selling cars? Bring him in to watch game tape for 12 hours a day, and in 5 years he'll be a coordinator somewhere making close to or more than six figures a year. Coaching is job corps for white men. This dude got fired and didn't even have to go down to the MAC to prove himself or make amends. I would have been fine with that btw...people deserve second chances, and if you show remorse fine whatever. Instead this dude waited for his buddy to get a good job. So he could fall upwards to the NFL. This shyt happens every year.
