I think Surf really loves Roc, I know people say their relationship is one sided, but I don't see that. I just think Surf looks at Roc as his little man, even tho Roc is older. But I think he genuinely likes him. He has no reason to stay around him and hang with him now. He did back in 2015 when he had nothing going for himself. But he doesn't need battle rap, he's making a LOT of money off his music, and he's still getting booked in battles regardless of how he performs. So him still being around Roc all the time shows me he really fukks with him.
