Daylyt basically gave 3 rounds of his 1st vs Clips. I've always said we never seen Daylyts peak because he was battling too much. But he got the highest peak in battlerap. His lows are at the fukking bottom of hell but his highs are the apex of lyricism.
Even at his lowest he's still better, pen wise, than a lot of these guys, I don't think his lows are that low. But his high are definitely super super top of the top tier.

Yall said these things about Lux right after the Verb battle when he "lost". Then yall switched the narrative a few months later

Californ-i-a by way of BK
To add on, I’m convinced fans aren’t really fukking with Lux like that anymore. Not necessarily on the level of Verb, but not too far off.

They get excited about him being on a card due to his old performances, but trash him after these battles.

I don’t think their brand of battle rap resonates with the fans.

If Surf got through his rounds clean, I don’t think he would have won anyway. However, based on the fact he has a more fan friendly style, I believe the perception of this battle would be totally different. I think the second is a clear example. I thought Lux won it kind of clearly, but the vast majority gave it to Surf. However, I do feel people will realize Lux won that round when they get to rewatch it.

100% agree. I think the thing with Lux is, fans don't like him more because of how he's perceived, more than actually something he did himself. Lux, for the most part, is a very quiet person and doesn't really say anything to warrant negative responses (like Verb does, for example). But because he's been put on a pedestal by his diehards, it has created this pushback towards him. Also, since fans put him on this level so high above everyone else, if he doesn't perform to this impossible standard, his detractors go "Lux was trash" or "Lux is overrated". When in reality, Lux does pretty good every battle (Not counting his Hollow, 2 on 2 or Calicoe performances where he was elite), but just not up to expectations. I also think the performance Lyt put on tonight hurt him a lot. Because they're constantly being compared and Daylyt had his best performance ever, and Lux was just okay/good.

Also, Lux's style just isn't tailored for this era anymore. If he battled more, he'd adjust, but honestly, it would hurt his brand if he started taking guys who would probably give him a competitive battle but aren't near his status.

I do want to hear his third round though, since he never got a chance to spit it. I bet after I rewatch the second, I'll give it to Lux more clear. I gave it to him first watch anyway, but I even had it debatable.

Thank you for acknowledging the bolded. The way his weirdo stans gas him, you'd think he'd blow the roof off the building every outing, but he hasn't.....in damn near a decade!!!

That Day and Roc is easily the best battle of the year and will go down as the first classic of this new format (which I hate btw). They both had on legendary costumes/attire as well.

Even though he lost, when the smoke clears, Roc is still the guy of his generation.
