Overall the bars were subpar for the hype but if I was forced to pick a winner it would be Hollow

Yea Hollow's 1st and Clips' 3rd are clear standouts. But when Hollow broke down how Clips comes out with schemes and projects how he's gonna finish a bar

That to me is top tier stuff. When you come up with a scheme that's easy for the crowd to get and exposes another dude's style AND the bars are workin his ribs?

not a GREAT battle but good enough moments I'd replay them individually. Just not a battle you would want to watch from start to finish

I think Hollow writing so many rhymes so he doesn't choke is a detriment more than a plus. He ends up mixing and matching shyt because once he sees one isn't working he can jump to his other rhymes. It's easy to pick up. But it lends to a lot of disjointed thoughts and raps and if he just focused more on writing some cold/undeniable shyt instead of pockets of rhymes here and there he'd be much better off. I mean, far be it from me to critique him, because he's a legend/very successful in his field without my help but just saying a viewer

yup and not only that he didnt get to the big picture with lux and he said in that interview with clips i think on 15 minutes of fame he didnt even get to do the new special shyt or whatever he was gonna try that was supposed to be for a url crowd (which who knows when he will be on url again now, though i guess if he faced mook or a url type rapper he could still use it) he also didnt use. and his round 3 for clips was 8 minutes and he still didnt get to the special shyt ? imagine hes been leaving out shyt that was way better than anything he spit in the round ?

but then again hes also never choked, can get out of dry spots easier etc which is what makes him unique too so idk lol

yeah i fukk with hollows 2nd too, i think people underate it for whatever reason maybe preference. Hollow is a little grindtime for some i think thats why all the times ive sen him live (surf,lux, clips) they showed him love but he was clearly the underdog in the room (not really outside the room necessarily cause hollow has a lot of fans) and i wasnt crazy about some of the stuff in his 3rd for a url crowd (evil bag i wasnt feeling) Hollow is smart he says some cold shyt, I think maybe im getting too old and i appreciate cold shyt sometimes more than straight punchlines unless they are super clever though ive always liked hollow, math, verb etc cause I feel they say real shyt mixed in with the bars

he had the same problem in the Lux battle, he never revealed the large picture, even though the last round was unlimited

Yeah he doesn't choke but he fukks up constantly. Lucky for him he's able to switch to different schemes and shyt to mask it.
