Sexually assaulted, as it states in the article, is not the same as rape. Sexual assault can be anything from rape, to calling someone gay.

Well there plenty of ways to humilate and have power over another man,without sticking your erect dikk in his ass.especially in an environment like the armed forces.Just ask anyone who has served.

Sexual assault has several definitions, in the past it was just about grabbing ass,inappropriate touching ,but the modern day thinking is to make it an unbrella term for all sex crimes, which does include rape. This has come about,due to the rare occasions when a woman somehow forces a man into a sex act, because some old definitions of rape, rule out the idea that a woman could rape a man.,this was seen as sexist So they have decided to make it simpler and call it all sexual assault it is legal laziness in my opinion. . This doesn't apply for all law enforcement agencies or legal systems ,but it does for some,some academics also put rape under the umbrella of sexual assault as well . This of course doesn't suggest that rape will be punished on an equal level with say groping, obviously rape will be punished more severely.

I also think it is also lazy to suggest rape is only about power and control, I do believe there is a sexual element to it,at least for some rapists. Some rapists just don't find a willing partner a turn on at all. This is why many rapists aren't the stereotypical ugly dude ,or the socially retarded dude with no friends.There is a famous case near me, where a dude was dragging women off the street at night,and raping them in alley ways or behind shops , when they were coming home from night clubs, when they caught him,turned out he was a popular dj at a local nightclub,who was very popular with the ladies.
