I did read it dumb fuk

First of all this article and headline are fake news, it’s shoddy reporting

They are taking the elimination of a particular program and making it look like the military is not allowing immigrants to join the army

Second, legal status is not the same thing as legal immigrant, what apparently is happening is that these people have student visas, h1b or other types of visas but they don’t have resident visas

A person with a resident visa aka green card would have no problem joining the military but somebody with legal status does not qualify to join the military unless they have a resident visa

So I did read the whole thing and I never said they were illegal and I actually understood the article better then you did

The US army approaches F1 students all the time especially in smaller college towns, there is a higher likelihood of someone on a non resident visa to join the army to get status than someone who already possesses a green card. In fact i am sure the rate of green card holders joining the army would be similar to natural born citizens. The program clearly targeted non-resident visas because it is quite frankly a better pitch for recruiters.

I’m not sure what your point is, but if you read the story the number of people in the program was in the dozens, it’s miniscule

But my point is, I read the article not just the headline so the fact is 1) this has nothing to do with actual legal immigrants joining the military 2) it’s shoddy reporting because it gives the impression that immigrants are not being allowed to join, so 3) @Call Me James is full of shyt as usual

This is a red line, much like separating kids from their parents at the border. Trump's fanatics will support this, but 2/3 of the country wont. If CNN and other cable news networks run this story, this policy will be stopped dead in its tracks.
Cant believe they thought they could get away with it.
:mjlol: Nikkas have been saying this shyt since he announced he was running. There’s always the final straw that will see his support tumble and yet here we are.

Where are all the "just do it the right way" Coli morons? :mjlol:
Catch a bullet for Uncle Sam to become a citizen of a country where well over 90% will never do any kind of military service, and still get put on ice immigrant brehs.
I believe they've pivoted to, "They should fix their country instead of coming to one that doesn't want them."

Liar.

"Eligible recruits are required to have legal status in the U.S., such as a student visa, before enlisting. More than 5,000 immigrants were recruited into the program in 2016, and an estimated 10,000 are currently serving. Most go the Army, but some also go to the other military branches."

It’s a special program that is being shut down

Again, you're lying. The administration has both suspended the program AND dropped recruits who had already began the enlistment process AND they are discharging people who were already accepted into the program. That's not just a typical "shut down" of a program, when you shut down a special program you don't just suddenly drop people who already had their foot in the door

"The Trump Administration added even more hurdles, creating a backlog within the Defense Department. Last fall, hundreds of recruits still in the enlistment process had their contracts canceled. A few months later, the military suspended MAVNI."

"Some of the service members say they were not told why they were being discharged. Others who pressed for answers said the Army informed them they'd been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them.

Spokespeople for the Pentagon and the Army said that, due to the pending litigation, they were unable to explain the discharges or respond to questions about whether there have been policy changes in any of the military branches."
