It's a temporary effect of an economic recession. People are putting off marriage and kids because they're broke. When the economy gets better people will start having kids again. It's not that big of a deal.

I'd worry way more about something like global warming than a temporary decline in the birthrate.

if birthrates decline then, implicitly, families decline also. what kind of culture will exist where everyone is family-less?

what happens to men is pretty straightforward, since they are naturally adapted to solitary life, but what happens to women culturally when that happens - how will they adapt to it?

i think men are more naturally suited to being solitary, theyre natural hobbyists etc. women depend more greatly on relationship and intimacy. thats why i feared what their role would be in a family less society. in my opinion, they would be the biggest losers of all in event of that.

it would be a bad society for everyone, men would lose too, to clarify, but not with the same severity and pain

basically, i think a society of people in transient relationships vs long term relationships centered on rasing kids wouldnt be good. i think it would make people feel disconnected
