yeah i could care less about the history of a sports franchise... and im a huge fan of sports in general...
id rather the name get changed A. cause it is pretty fukked up when you think about the term "Red" Skin...and B. I generally hate every single rightwing fan that i hear calling it a politcal correctness move... they would be saying the same thing if the name was Washington fighting negroes or some shyt........
problem is in reality no one cares enough...you can campaign on twitter and message boards all you want but no one cares. The Redskins would change their name if people stopped supporting the team...and that's not happening. It's about football.
The internet was going apeshyt about the Jets signing Vick and how there would be protests every day at training camp from PETA etc. Guess what...no one cares. Every report about the Jets has been about football just like every Redskins training camp report has been about football. There have been zero protests about Mike Vick in Cortland and zero Redskins protests at camp.

Fake outrage gotta stop. As does trying to make this equal to other racist slurs. Washington Redskins is not equal to Washington Tar Babies or whatever comparisons people keep making. I've literally never heard anyone use the term redskin outside of directly referencing that football team. Maybe I live in a box or something though.
In terms of racist issues we need to deal with the Washington Redskins are like #402,311. If they have to change their name I'll be annoyed because they'll likely replace it with some generic name. Sad t see one of the most valuable and iconic NFL franchises go out like this. No selling the fukk out of Washington Warriors/Braves/etc.
Even if they forced to change their name what really changes? You get to shove it to corporate / white America basically but nothing meaningful changing. I understand why people mad but this a waste of time / money and effort.

How many native Americans do you know for you to even hear them being called derogatory names? They're practically extinct in the US BC of the white man, and red skin was the derogatory name they called them back then.
