Somalia..they are officially a failed state and a stain on the entire region and also responsible for cross boarder terrorist attacks.
And because of their rigid religious disposition, they are not open minded or creative enough to pull themselves out of the hole they're in. I don't see Somalia ever recovering.
Kenya should just take over that place and make good use of it..take the women, convert them and drive the men into the sea

Was over in Somalia in '00 and again in '06 and '07, some of the exchanges there were worst than what I got in Samarra, Kandahar and Kirkuk.. I'll say this, a lot of the upper brass still hasn't forgotten the embarrassment of Mogadishu back in '93 and I am positive that none of them are hardly upset about this

We've been in Somalia since the late 80's covertly, shyt went overt in the early 90's and we've been struggling with that area ever since. I'm not in agreement with using drones, that's outright cowardice imo especially when it's already established that the shyt doesn't work well in the place of using conventional ground forces there.
In such environments where there's the unnecessary risk of civilian casualties or if the terrain can support it, we need boots on the ground not bombs from above. I can understand their reasoning.. the Somalis are tough, generational fighters and we could lose more personnel than deemed acceptable from the Pentagon's standpoint. Still, you have the Marines, Rangers, DEVGRU, SF, Recon, SOAR, etc..all these highly trained and specialized units, put them to fukking use.
