You break Texas down to just the Texas triangle or just the 45 corridor and East Texas, then the black percentage would skyrocket. And that’s an area the size of GA. Texas black percentage would probably jump to top 10, while barely putting a dent in the raw number of Black Texans. The rest of Texas west of Dallas, actually dilutes Texas black percentage. Because there’s a way larger rural mexican and white population in the rest of the state West of I-45 and South of I-10. Black people in Texas aren’t scattered and aren’t far away from each other. “Black Texas” is basically limited to greater Houston, greater Dallas and rural East Texas. Those 3 areas are near to each other relative to Texas overall size. Texas would be significantly blacker, if it was cut down to Georgia’s size and limited to just those 3 areas.
100%.
People don't realize how big Texas is and how empty it is. Drove to Big Bend and I distinctly remember the last 90 minutes.....did not see one single car going in either direction. Imagine being in New York or New Jersey and driving for 90 minutes without seeing a person anywhere on foot or in a car

It's 10% larger than France but has 1/2 the population of France.
California has like 9 million more people but Texas is 100,000 sq miles larger than Cali.
Once you get west of Austin, there are hardly any black people. 2/3 of the state...pretty much every town is either 90% white or 90% Latino. City like El Paso is probably more Hispanic than Los Angeles or Miami.
Shyt even in DFW, you can feel the change from "South" to "Southwest" as you drive on 30 towards Fort Worth. Further west you go in FW, the drop in blacks is noticeable. Hit Weatherford and it's hella white.
