Timing. Both Netherlands and Chile had dominating first 2 games and were already through to the next round. Their game was essentially an exhibition.

they were the seeded team in the group,

and it was both teams first game of the tournament so history made Algeria look worse since most remember they looked bad in the last tournament. After seeing the matchups actually play out, Belgium don't look that much better.
