Y'all watched the premiere last night?
I thought it was pretty decent, better than the new "V" at least. So far we haven't seen any aliens or a close up view of any obviously "alien" technology, so for all we know the aliens already left (or never existed).

Did we see a flash of them wearing some kind of "clean room" suits at the end? Maybe they're literally working at the factory building those drones.
I'm suspecting that the aliens came and left and that the Mayor of the block in LA and other humans that collaborated with them are just using leftover technology to stay in power.
