Phones are pretty much portable spy devices. . I'm sure netflix sells your data too. I wouldn't be surprised that these tvs with these cameras on top eventually start recording your face and see how you react to certain scenes in movies and news to further their predictive analytics on you.

One thing you should always do is check your mic settings on your phone.

It wouldn’t be too difficult for a company, via an app, to passively listen to background noise and gather valuable data.

For example, take the app Shazam.

What’s stopping companies from embedding singatures in commercials and then having an app listen for those unique signals and then track your subsequent browser behavior to gauge effectiveness of the ad?

Applications of the tech like this abound.
