He’s had hits but nothing compared to his first decade 94-05.. after his first decade he really dropped the ball wayyy too soon! Usher doesn’t seem to have the hunger/ambition, nor the team to catapult his legacy into the next generation ..transitioning through the later eras of the digital age (late 00s-early 10s) and the current streaming market. It’s soo much harder for his peer class to exist along side these Gen Z artists.. Even JT who had the machine behind him faltered heavily in the 10s
The only artist from his peer class that’s showing that sort of longevity/consistency is Beyonce, which is crazy cause Usher was easily the bigger artist during the primes.
