Because we spend too much time basing the worth of our culture off vehicles designed for white folks to impart their opinions and influence.

White folks have always purchased more music due to them being the majority of the people in this country with the largest economic base.

The problem with black music, and hip hop especially, began when we started to judge our artists based on their ability to appeal to white folks.

That's basically what all this talk about record sales and chart placement really is.

And then we turn around and wonder why shyt doesn't sound as good or connect to us in the same way that it used to.
