Glad someone brought it up. 100% facts.

Usher is my 2nd favorite artist of all time so I'm very disappointed that people aren't showing him no love. He really did just drop a pretty good album.

Usher has given people mature music. He dropped good kisser, clueless, and she came to give it to you. I don't mind charted higher than anyone one of them records.

Here I stand was a mature that still get hated. He didn't go edm straight out the gate until the whole r&b game went down with that autotune stuff and even then his albums have been mostly r&b outside of those edm singles.

Usher had crash to go with no limit wnd missing u to go with rivals. Usher had something for younger generation as well as something for his core fanbase from the singles to the actual album.

Now I will say that rca gotta step they game up on promoting these albums. The record label is kind of sabotaging some of their artists.

I feel like people just hate on usher or give him these unrealistic expectations of wanting him to make confessions 2.0. I don't see any other artist of his caliber getting that kind of treatment.

It ain't even like usher is washed talent wise. Just don't make sense at all, but watch how nikkas come through in droves when Timberlake`s album drop next year.

I am an Usher fan as well, but we gotta keep in 100. For starters, there is nothing mature about replacing "dikk sucker" with "kisser" breh. :heh:. It was a decent song but nothing special. I liked "She came to give it to you" but what about that song screams "hit" in any format in 2016? "I don't mind" charted high because it was catchy as hell. Catchy will always chart. If he came with some more "Here I Stand" or "There Goes My Baby" type stuff then adult contemporary would have eaten that up. Instead it seems like he's trying to be everything to everybody. "Here I stand" was bound to catch hell because it was his first release after his biggest album. It still went plat and had a number 1 single. If he stays in that lane then I think he has a solid niche established for himself and more brand loyalty.

Usher tried to make grown music and y'all lamed out on Here I Stand. He had a more grown single in Good Kisser and y'all lamed out again. Meanwhile his EDM shyt and I don't mind was charting high.

Usher just needs to put a dad hat on and sing like crap. He'll be back on top in no time

Here I stand was successful though, it charted number one and went double platinum. I know it wasn't double diamond like confessions, to say Here I stand wasnt successful isn't fair.

Usher out here selling less than Maxwell and D'Angelo. What a perfect example that young fans don't give a fukk. You gotta find a loyal fan base and cater to them.

Usher will be fine tho. Didn't he just do a huge tour?
He had this song like a year ago though. 100 million views on youtube. Pretty sure it's plat. He still does his thing with the singles I guess but people just weren't excited for an Usher album and they didn't promo it well

R.kelly laid out the blueprint on how to still be current, but still cater to your original fan base. Usher just needs to find the right producers and writers to make that happen. Basically he just needs to stick with the formula he had for confessions(not content).

he had a lot of success, sure
but he just was never a GREAT artist. good, but not GREAT
:what:

What qualifying measure are you using to say Usher isn't a great artist? Who exactly are you ranking above him? Ya'll got to be 90s babies in here talking this nonsense

It's not. No one knew this album was dropping. This was bad promo. Britney Spears was everywhere to get her 100k a couple weeks ago. They even had her at the MTV Awards. Usher should've performed or something.

She came to give to you and good kisser were refreshing sounds for usher. They were a good fit for him

Those songs were better than I don't mind, but the mainstream audience like the ratchet stuff.

Maybe I'm wrong. Climax was a big record. I just don't get what do people want from usher. He drops the good music as singles and they end up charting lower than the edm/I don't mind type of singles for the most part.

He's not a legend tho. He started catering to thots instead of growing old with class. He a abandoned his own fanbase

no, i'm just sayin' from the start he ain't never been THAT level of great. he ain't prince or mj, nikka :stopitslime:
and i'm an 80's baby :camby:
He doesn't have to be Prince or MJ to be a great artist. Usher got classics, he's sold millions, he can actually perform.....what exactly is he missing that doesn't make him a great artist? Usher is a legend, I can't believe the blasphemy I'm reading in this thread. You're an 80s baby u should know better :snoop:
