"Utopia" U.S. Remake Coming to HBO, David Fincher Directing....

Wasnt that impressed, didnt leave any lasting memories. I thought it was more style than substance and started to wear thin by the end despite only being 6 episodes long.

Not to say it wasnt a good show because it was, but along with Rectify I thought it was a hype train that picked up steam simply because most other tv is wack

I am fully confident that the David Fincher version will be superior

Been stuck inside all day because of the snow and decided to marathon this. This was amazing. I was able to figure a few of the twist out, but a few blew my mind. The part where

it turns out the Russian whore Anya was really a spy and that mister rabbit wasnt the assistant (which I thought I figured in like episode 3) and was the spy agent

Forget a US version, I need season 2

I knew the ending with Jessica was coming when they said something along the lines of hiding Janus in his greatest work. Awesome show though. Visually, this is one of the greatest shows or films I've ever scene. The color palette, especially early on is vibrant as hell and the lighting is top notch throughout. The main ethical debate is a difficult one, but I find myself leaning ever so slightly towards 2 Wilsonz side.

I need the second series out now

And yeah, no need for an adaptation of a show that came out last year and isn't over yet

I can't really side with The Network for one simple reason fam.

Look at how they handled a simple information leak. They sent the goons out. They killed innocent people, set others up on rape/pedo charges, all kinds of crazy shyt. Just dumbed out. They shot up a fukking school and framed a kid!

So while their concern....and possibly even their info....might be accurate, concerning overpopulation, famine, etc....I can't help but think if they handled an info leak like that, then they could also be overreacting to this as well.

And yeah whoever the cinematographer is for this show, he's a fukking animal.

At the start of the series when Becky is trying to explain the plot of the Utopia comic she says it's about a scientist that makes a deal with the devil.

I don't know if you guys noticed or not, but in the last episode when they reveal Milner is Mr. Rabbit she's standing in front of a stained glass window. Look at her head:

cat's haven't been up on Utopia ...

I'm a lil on the side of this news...Fincher is my 3rd favorite director...so anything he does has me like ( i still argue to this day that Zodiac is not only a vastly underrated movie...but a modern day classic and borderline top 25 movie...EVER )...but even I have a little trepidation about ANYONE trying to remake Utopia...

It's just...one of those shows that should not have an american spin on it...

Will check it out anyway though cause HBO has been on a fukking role lately

Forgot to mention the cinematography. This might be one of the most beautifully and masterfully shot televisions shows I've ever seen. I was literally in awe of some of the visuals. The framing and colors were jaw dropping and inspired me as some one whos always wanted to work in film/television to pick up a fukking camera. I love HBO and I feel like they can do it justice. If the visuals are even half as good, as this...

This show crazy, the way the first EP ended is prolly one of the GOAT episode endings I can think of

British tv been on a roll recently, that show the wrong mans on hulu is pretty sick too, you can't really compare it to Utopia but

I don't think it will be watered down since it is going to be on HBO and directed by Fincher. I can't see HBO trying to meddle with whatever Fincher wants to do. Plus Gillian Flynn is known for being pretty dark with her writing too so I am very optimistic that there will be no tempering of the subject matter in this translation.
