no thread?

probably for the best, b/c this is a shell of the UK original... shyt, I barely remember much about it, feels like i watched it 20 years ago at this point, and i still know this is a shell.

got 2.5 episodes in last night and it bummed me out. it's pretty soulless. I'll finish it bc it's only 8 episodes, but after hearing about this for years - David fukkin Fincher was gonna make it for HBO - and now watching it on Prime it's pretty meh. Especially after watching a new Boys episode.

Jessica Hyde actress is also too fukkin ugly to lead a show. don't wanna look at this chick

Was that the crazy ass show with that dude killer? I know it was going to come to the U.S sooner, but they had that school shooting scene ?

It is not that similar in its presentation to the British one, but it is entertaining. The speech about man-boys believing that superheroes are the highest literature there is really is perfection

One of my major issues with this show in comparison with the UK version (aside from the fact the production and visual style is pedestrian as fukk while the UK version was a feast for the eyes) is with the Jessica Hyde character.

Creating a superfluous character in Sam just so she could be killed in cold blood by Jessica as a "Holy shyt!" moment shows how basic this show is because Jessica isn't just a bizarre socially awkward anti-hero now but instead is a murdering piece of shyt just like the assassins who killed all the people at the comic con and murdered Wilson Wilson's family that our band of reluctant hero nerds are running from.

Any attempts to try and make this motley crew a team of sorts will now ring false because these nerds shouldn't ever feel anything but fear and disdain for Jessica but this show is already having Becky showing empathy towards her and as a viewer I don't give a damn about Jessica's pain over finding out Mr. Rabbit killed her father because Jessica is a villain with zero redeeming qualities.

watched it all. just a bad remake, oddly toned show. enjoy the overall premise, the comic was great, maybe half of the characters were solid, that's about it. 5/10

every time i looked at Jessica Hyde, i thought of this classic tweet (minus the "pretty" part)

what a strange looking human.

i wanna revisit the original, but naturally it's not available anywhere
