Obviously, most cops cant afford to go without pay for almost any period of time. A lot of them take on second jobs and pull crazy overtime to make ends meet. At my office building, we have active NYPD cops moonlighting as security guards. When the company put out a mandate that all vendors + contractors must get vax'd, many of them quit. From conversations with the remaining few, they were under the impression that NYC couldnt put a mandate for the NYPD. Main reason they thought was the city couldnt affod to risk reducing the size of the force. With violent crimes, shootings, felony assaults (think subway) at all time high the city wouldnt risk sidelining them. Guess they also forgot Mayor Debozo is not eligible for re-election and aint got notihng to lose. Come'boi, roll up them sleeves ... it aint gonna hurt one bit ... lol
