They gotta be careful tho cuz these smaller foreign companies are quietly creating handheld PC systems that are going to be better than the Steam Deck, if not already

I don't think they care. Their real goal is to make SteamOS available on any handheld thereby making it easier to rope you into their little Steam ecosystem or whatever you wanna call it.

The original came out in 2022 with the OLED in 2023.

I guess a successor will be out next year or maybe early 2026.

I'm skeptical. But it's worth a shot. As long as they continue to support what they have it shouldn't piss off current owners. The future is never promised.
