Cornel West & Tavis Smiley were big supporters of Obama back in 08 and praised him every chance they got, but then after Obama won he basically hit them with theand they had no access to him at all. After that they became some of his biggest critics and questioned everything he did no matter how big or small. Dude was heart-broken to see all the years he spent changing the country, being dismantled by Trump and his supporters.
Van Jones seeing Biden get re-elected is somewhat validation to all the hard work and progress he thought he worked towards wasn't in vain.
To Van Jones and others, Biden winning shows that America still has somewhat a modicum of hope to progress.
